Mayra Valdez joined Siegel Long Public Affairs full time in 2021 after serving as our CLLARO Capitol Fellow during the 2021 session. During her time as a fellow she supported our work on Birth Equity and Tax Fairness legislation. She is continuing her work with us by digging in on tax policy and workers issues.

Prior to joining our team, she was a legislative intern for Representative Leslie Herod during the 2020 Legislative Session. She has volunteered for organizations such as Casa de Paz, COPA and CIRC. Ms. Valdez has a B.A in Political Science from Metropolitan State University of Denver. As a student she served as the President of IGNITE and the Political Science Association where she helped increase civic engagement on campus.
